Comments : Our suggestion for everyone is prepare, prepare, prepare... We contacted the US embassy in Bucharest once the USCIS approved our initial application. We knew that the NVC would soon forward our application to Romania, so we filled out all forms in advance, took the medical examination and criminal background check before Romania even received the package. We didn't have to wait for the instruction packet, because we had already asked what was in it and completed those tasks (about 5 things)! With this approach, Romania received our application, we set up the interview and entered the US all in the same week! Best of luck to everyone!

Comments : We prepared really well before sending in the package with all the documents to Chicago Office. I put in the package a letter where I listed all the forms and documents that I included in the package, so it would make it easier for them to go through the documents. We also have a very beautiful and legitimate relationship. We were happy to get the green card in hand in 58 days !!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
