Comments : Interview was scheduled at Newark, NJ appointment and we were scheduled at 8:00am. We came 20 minutes to 8 and the line infront of Broad Street entrance and the back entrance was long.

We were able to enter the building, submit the appointment notice (for attendance I believe) and lead at the waiting room to wait for the interviewer by 8:30 am.

Before 9:00 am we were called by our interviewer (not sure if Im allowed to mention our interviewer's name, but if you want to know message me and I'll let you know).

We were not separated, we were asked to seat infront of her desk. She was really pleasant, easy to converse with and direct to the point. Asked only about my husband's job, how I came to the US and my status progression, my DOB, date I came into this country, and asked for my old passport where my old I-94 was stapled and took it. Also, she just asked for the paperworks we did not include in our application (like joint bank account, bills, contract, insurance etc), and a photo when we had our wedding ceremony. She did not look at the album, mounds of loose photos, letters and cards we brought with us. It was a short interview that only lasted I'm guessing around less than 10 minutes or so. Finally, she told us that she would send her evaluation and recommendation approving of my husband's petition for me and my application for permanent resident.

I guess its a "yes." But I'll know for sure as soon as I get the GC on hand, which she said would take 30 days or less.

** Case status update text and email was received at around 6pm for:
I-130 stating that at 01/10/2010 a notice was mailed stating petition for relative/fiance was approved.
I-485 that at 01/10/2010 that new permanent status was registered and that permanent card should be mailed soon.

Embassy Review : Our interview appointment was scheduled at Newark, NJ at 8:00am. We came 20 minutes to 8 and the line infront of the Broad Street entrance and the back entrance was long.

The wait outside to be able to get into the facility was painful since it was really cold outside but other than that, the guard who controls the line, the person who directs you at which window to go to, and the person behind the window who directs you to the waiting room, and finally the interviewer were all pleasant, cordial, very professional and treated us with respect.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
