Consulate Review: Amman, Jordan
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 23, 2012
Embassy Review : My fiance arrived at the Embassy at 7 AM. His appointment was scheduled for 8:30 AM. He was called to the window for the interview. The CO asked him if he needed a translator. My fiance said no but they brought one anyway. He answered the questions in English anyway. The CO asked him questions suggesting that we were trying to defraud the government. My fiance told me that they treated him like he was guilty of fraud. My fiance kept his cool and answered the questions. The CO would not look at any of the evidence that my fiance had brought with him. The CO told my fiance that he doesn't believe us and that my fiance should send all the documents we could to prove our relationship is real. He was given 221g and dismissed. We subsequently provided documents and the visa was granted but he had most of those documents with him already at the interview. I think they were definitely using scare/stall tactics. It was stressful but my fiance stayed polite and respectful. We are rating them as a five because we know the CO was doing his job.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
