Embassy Review : I had my immigrant visa interview in Stockholm on Dec. 13th. It was a smooth experience, besides the fact that I was extremely nervous. It turned out there was no reason to be nervous at all. The hardest part about the whole experience was the waiting.

My husband was with me and they let him come in with me. My appointment was at 8.30 am, we were outside the embassy at around 7.50 am. There was only two IV interviews that day, so there was no need to be that early. They let you bring your purse and jacket inside, but they make you check any electronics. We waited inside for almost an hour before the interview. When we first got inside we gave the lady at window G our papers. I gave her an updated DS 230 and 300 kroner in stamps. It's very important to remember to bring stamps, check the embassy webpage for info. I wrote my name on an envelope and then sat back down and waited.

At around 9 we were called for the interview. It was a very nice lady that swore us in and asked us how we met. She then wanted to know how our relationship developed. I was kinda expecting interrogation like questions, but it was nothing like that. It was all over in about 5 min. She said they had the paperwork they needed and that my visa was approved I told her we already bought plane tickets for Dec. 29th and she wrote that on a note so they could process my visa faster. I got it in the mail exactly one week after the interview.

It was a very easy interview and there was no reason to worry as much as I did.
Everybody was nice, from the guards to the CO!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
