Embassy Review : SO
Oshane and I stayed in Kingston for the interview, we stayed a pretty reasonable hotel called chelsea hotel on chelsea ave for 40 dollars a night.
It was located about 15 minutes away from the embassy. 500 ja dollar taxi ride to get there.
our appointment was for 8:30 but we got there around 7:30, as long as you have an appointment letter it doesnt really seem to matter what time you show up they put you through regardless.
Once we arrived, there was a man outside who helped us with oshanes paper work, stapling passport pics and forms together, pretty much made it organized for the interview. He checked both our passports and led us to the line to enter the embassy. they call you in, you go through security, very similar to airport.
NO ELECTRONICS! you can have water but they will ask you to drink it infront of them, before you can enter.
After the security, you get to the courtyard area which is outside, with many chairs. this is wear you can put your belt and watch back on. Then you sit and wait for them to call you in by seated rows into the embassy. The court yard is where any US citizen has to stop and wait. Once your fiance brought into the embassy, they will then recieve a number, then will have to wait in the immigration waiting area.
Oshane said that after about an hour and a half of wait he was called to the first desk where the woman asked for all of HIS paperwork, so his forms, passport pictures, medical, police certificate, and she was about to forget about his non impendment but he reminded her and she took it.. i mean if you are going to spend the money to get the stupid thing they might as well take it, right?
He then sat back down and wait some more for his number to get called. (4 hours!!!!)
He was second to last to get called. He said that many others interview could take up to 30 minutes. But when he got called up he said it felt more like a converstation not a bunch of questioning. The man who did his interview had my paper from my petion about how we ment and we continued our relationship and he pretty much asked questions off of the:
where did we meet?
when did he propose?
what are my parents names?
how many times have i been there?
but none of the questions came as a suprise to him because they all came from the one paper. then he took some of the picture that I had also sent with my petition and held them up and asked oshane who was in them, and he would tell him. I had written on the back of the pictures who was in which pictures. Oshane offered to show him more pictures but he said no.
He said the man was VERY nice.
the interview lasted for maybe 5-10 minutes.
He took all of my co-sponsors stuff, he took only the I-134 tax returns, w2 and employment letter from my finacial stuff, he didnt look at any of the evidence of relationship except for my intent to marry that was signed and dated a day before the interview.
Oshane said that the biggest things was that he didnt feel like it was 21 questions, he felt it was a converstation, that they man gave him a few minutes to tell him about our relationship and then some questions, (but nothing out of the blue like where does her mother work) he asked about him asking my parent for their bless and how did they take it, about how I was there, simple stuff. Over all he said it went well and fast. He then got led to the DHL office and bought his VISA pickup in Mobay for something close to 1,250 ja dollars. they said it takes 1-2 weeks but could take 3.

If you are going to wait for your fiance make sure the bring a good book.. waiting is HORRIBLE! and infact there are tons of people coming in to renew their visa so many people are coming in and out of the embassy, that I was so destracted hoping that one of the people would be oshane that I couldnt focus.
Once it was over I had a HUGGGEE headache but was so happy! well worth the wait and the trip, wedding is on for Janaury 14th and I couldnt be more thrilled. feel free to message me with any questions! thanks for all the support!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
