Consulate Review: Sydney, Australia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 23, 2012
Embassy Review : I was very lucky that I got to fly into Sydney when most domestic flights were canceled due to the Brazil ash for that period of time. I got very nervous and did it wrong for the payment (the lady in the post office in Adelaide really confused me and she suggested the wrong way of paying the fee!!!!) The person in the document preview window was very nice. He gave me some extra some so that I could run to the closest post office and do another payment (glad that the consulate is in the middle of a very busy shopping area and the post office was no more than 1o minutes away).

It was a lady who finally interviewed me. Just be calm and answer all the questions she asks (like 'where do you meet? how did you meet? what is his job? ...no questions are challenging or difficult. It is all about the basic stuff.) She does not make me nervous at all and then I got approved!!

My return flight was canceled, not surprisingly. But I am happy that I could eventually be with him after 1.5 or 2 years' long distance

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
