Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : JFK
POE Date : 2011-08-06
Got EAD Stamp : Yes,Passport Stamp
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 5
Comments : POE was not a good experience. It took us 3 hours to get through immigration. First the line took forever (we got in at 8 PM, so not too many officers were working). Then when we got to the officer, who was nice, she stamped my wife's passport to let her in but when she tried to do the biometrics, the pictures wouldn't take. So then we went to another room where there were 3 officers that seemed to manually input the info. Very depressing room, because it seemed like they were also dealing with persons who were having problems entering the country. We were like 6th on a pile of visa packets but it took over an hour for someone to get to my wife's packet and input her data and send us on her way. They were so slow because they kept talking to each other and not doing their work. Very frustrating. But finally my wife was done, we got our bags and we left! Thank god we don't have to go through that again.

Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines

Event Description

Embassy Review : Interview went smoothly for my wife for her CR Visa. I was able to go with her. We got to the embassy before 6, lined up, entered inside. It was a nice waiting area and that's what we did...wait. First for her fingerprint. Then wait. Next the first interview with Filipino woman. Didn't asked much. Where did we meet? How many times and for how long has my wife been to the US? How many times have I been to the Philippines? When did we get married? Then she asked if we had pictures and we held up 3 books of pictures, she laughed and said that was fine and didn't even look at them. Then wait again. Final interview with white guy who asked us barely even anything, just looked at me and seemed happy I came too and that was proof enough. Then he said congratulations, told us to wait again to hand over the 2GO slip that was it! Out by sometime after 10. It took long to get here but it was worth it. Now, we wait for the visa, she goes to the CFO seminar and we plan to leave in early August!
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
