Embassy Review : ON THE DAY OF THE INTERVIEW, MY BERRY AND I ARRIVED AT THE EMBASSY AT 8:10 AM. AT THE TIME THE LINE WAS VERY SHORT AND THE LADY OUTSIDE TOOK HIS PAPERWORK AND ATTACHED HIS PASSPORT PICTURES TO THEM. WE WENT IN THE EMBASSY TOGETHER, GOING THROUGH THE METAL DETECTOR AND ARRIVED INTO THE COURTYARD. HE WENT INTO THE EMBASSY WHILE I WAITED OUTSIDE WITH THE OTHER PEOPLE WAITING FOR THERE TURN TO GO IN FOR INTERVIEW, PASSPORT RENEWALS ETC. WHILE WAITING I MET UP WITH ANOTHER VJERS WAITING FOR HER HUSBAND WHO HAD A 7:30AM APPOINTMENT (WHO DID GET APPROVED BY THE WAY). A SHORT TIME LATER, NIGHTNURSE ARRIVED WITH HER FIANCE RY. HE WENT INTO THE EMBASSY WHILE NIGHTNURSE AND I AND THE CR-1 WIFE WAITING FOR HER HUBBY WAITED AND CHIT CHAT FOR SEVERAL HOURS. A MAN NAME KEVIN THAT WORK FOR THE EMBASSY CAME OVER TO US CRACKED JOKES JUST TO LIGHTEN THE MOOD ASKING US QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR FIANCEE. WHILE THIS WAS GOING ON OUTSIDE THE EMBASSY, BERRY WAS IN THE EMBASSY WAITING FOR HIS NAME TO CALLED. HE WENT TO A WINDOW AND GAVE A LADY HIS PAPERWORK AND HE WAS GIVEN A NUMBER. WHEN HE FINALLY WAS CALLED TO THE WINDOW A MIDDLE AGED CAUCASIAN MAN BEGAN TO ASK HIM QUESTIONS. HE ASKED: 1. WHAT'S YOUR FIANCEE'S NAME? 2. WHERE DID WE MEET? HE ASKED HIM TO CONTINUE TALKING THE STORY OF HOW WE MET (AT THIS TIME THE CO HAD MY QUESTION 18 FROM MY NOA-1 IN HIS HAND AND READING IT AS BERRY TOLD THE STORY. MIND YOU MY QUESTION 18 WAS 6 PAGES LONG). THE CO ASKED ABOUT PICTURES THAT WERE IN THE NOA-1 PACKET, NEVER ASKING TO SEE THE ALBUM I PREPARED. HE PUT THE PICTURE UP TO THE WINDOW AND ASKED WHERE WERE WE AND WHAT WERE DOING FOR ABOUT 5 PICTURES. HE THEN CONTINUED WITH THE QUESTIONS: 3. WHAT DID I DO FOR A LIVING? WHERE DO I WORK? WHATS MY CHILDREN NAME AND AGE? WHY DID I TAKE SO LONG TO GET DIVORCE? WHAT AGE DID I MIGRATE TO THE STATES? HE ASKED HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I COME TO VISIT JAMAICA? WHERE DO I STAY? HE THEN ASKED WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME HE SAW ME. BERRY TOLD HIM I WAS IN THE COURTYARD WAITING FOR HIM. HE WENT TO HIS COMPUTER CHECKED SOMETHING AND SAID OK. HE THEN ASKED ABOUT PAPERWORK AND HE ONLY TOOK THREE.(POLICE CLEARANCE, PAYSTUBS, AND TAX FORMS). HE THEN ASKED ABOUT THE MEDICAL WHICH WAS NOT COMPLETE. BERRY TOLD THEM THAT HE WENT FOR HIS MEDICAL BUT HE WAS STILL MISSING A FEW VACCINATION. THE CO GAVE HIM A BLUE SLIP WITH MEDICAL CHECKED AND TOLD HIM TO MAKE A BLUESLIP APPOINTMENT WHEN HE HAS THE COMPLETE MEDICAL IN HAND.

NOTE: NIGHTNURSE AND I WERE VERY METICULOUS ABOUT OUR DOCUMENTS, SO WE BOUGHT EXPANDABLE (ACCORDIAN FOLDERS) AND PLACED ALL THE DOCUMENTS IN IT BY COLOR CODED TABS. PURPLE=DSFORMS, GREEN=FINANCIAL AND BLUE=EVIDENCE. I EVEN CREATED A PHOTOALBUM BUT THE CO NEVER ASKED FOR. OVERALL THE EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD, BUT NERVE-WRECKING. SITTING AND WAITING FOR THE UNKNOWN FOR 3HOURS WAS THE HARDEST PART, BUT SEEING MY BERRY WALK OUT WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND KNOWING WE WOULDNT BE APPROVED RIGHT AWAY PENDING THE RETURN OF THE MEDICAL TO THE EMBASSY WAS ENOUGH FOR ME. HE GOES BACK FOR THE COMPLETION OF HIS MEDICAL ON 8/17 AND WE WILL CONTACT THE EMBASSY IMMEDIATELY TO SCHEDULE THE BLUE SLIP APPOINTMENT. IM STILL PRAYING THAT WE CAN TRAVEL BACK UP THE STATES TOGETHER, IM NOT LETTING THAT PRAYER GO. ALL OF MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED SO FAR AND IM HOPING THAT THIS ONE WILL TOO. IM STILL ON CLOUD 9 AND ENJOYING CELEBRATING WITH MY BERRY WHILE IM STILL HERE ON THE ISLAND. PLEASE FELLOW VJER'S TELL YOUR FIANCE WHEN THEY GO IN FOR THERE INTERVIEW TO LOOK THE PART, DRESS THE PART AND REMAIN CONFIDENT THROUGH IT ALL. I HOPE THIS REVIEW WAS HELPFUL TO ALL.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
