Consulate Review: France
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 1, 2011
Embassy Review : Before having my date of interview, i got worried because i didn't receive the packet 4. After having faxed them, they called me back on Friday, May 13 (24 hours later) to tell me that the interview would take place on May 26. And they told me that i should receive the packet 4 soon because they sent it Saturday, May 7.
On May 17 i faxed them to tell that i didn't receive any mail?! The next day, they called me to tell me that if i didn't received the packet 4 i could come to the embassy without the letter of convocation
So, the D-Day i went to the embassy, told the Security Guard that i have my interview today but i cannot show him my letter because i didn't receive it. Thus, he checked my passport, went inside and came back few minutes later to tell me to go inside.
Then, the woman at the reception gave me a ticket and 5 minutes later i went to the window where a woman spoke to me in french and asked me my passport. Then she told me to get back to my seat and few minutes later she called me at the window where i gave her all my papers. She informed me about the next step, etc... Then she took my fingersprint and finally told me to seat down beside the window 10, where the consul would call me. 10 minutes later, the consul called me and asked me few questions like : where did you meet your fiancée? When did you see her in USA? Did she come to France? What is your job?
Then, she told me that my Visa would be processed within 1 to 2 weeks and asked me if i had some questions. It lasted 1h15
I received on June 1st my K1 Visa.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
