At the end of August, I had my citizenship interview at USCIS in San Francisco.
I visited many government offices such as SSA, USCIS, DMV in New York and California, but I never had such a pleasant experience as this citizenship interview at USCIS. The lady who interviewed me was really nice, calm, patient and professional. I was nervous, but she made me feel more relaxed and everything went smoothly.
A few days later, I had another a nice experience when a lady from the same office called me to schedule my oath. Again, very warm, patience, giving me a lot of details, and I even was able to choose between two options.
The Oath Ceremony was small and special at the USCIS office in San Francisco (where I had the interview). I understood this is happening only a few times per year, with a special occasion usually. In this case, it was the Constitution Week. We were just 10 people receiving the oath, and the special guest was the Secretary of Homeland Security - Jeh Johnson - who's speech I liked. Everything was pretty formal, which was expected in this case. I did enjoy the experience more than I thought, and everyone was so friendly. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
