Local US CIS Office Review: Chula Vista CA
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : June 24, 2010
Embassy Review : Finaaaally!!! thanks to visajourney, all the topics i have read here were very helpful. We had out interview this morning at Chula Vista branch and it went well.

We arrived around 8:15, my interview was scheduled 8:45am. When we got there, there were only about 5-7 couples sitting. We just waited for our names to be called accordingly. My name was called around 9:10am. The IO can't even pronounced my last name, oh well, she just called me by my first name. So my hubby and I entered the interview room and before we sat she made us oath. First thing she asked was my passport, birth certificate, my husband's naturalization papers or proof of citizenship. She checked and compared the original from the photocopied and returned to me all my original copies. She also took a copy of our marriage certificate and verified the divorce papers we submitted (K1 visa, Fiance visa) were certified and original. She then began asking my personal info like my real name, address, telephone at home, my birthplace, my parent's name, and everything I wrote at form I-485. After that, she started asking how we met, she was either referring some questions to me or to my husband but she was just casual and ok if it was the two of us telling her the details. We were just like telling our love story :P then she asked some proofs of our relationship like ownership of a car or house, contracts or some sort so I gave her my copies of medical bills and insurance where I was enrolled by my husband under his name, also with the apartment receipts, some netflix mails (where she too enjoyed having it at home for her kids), mails, and the photos. She began flipping the pages and was asking where and when was this, who was this and so forth.. she also asked how well I am doing with my husband's kids since the eldest is living with us and not with his ex-wife. Some part of the interview were noted on our folder file and the rest where like chitchat. Finally, she printed a paper telling me that my green card will be arriving in two weeks and the expiration of my green card for two years, which I have to file again for the 10year green card later on. Wheeew! The interview took just about 15minutes, but it took us about 30minutes inside because of the paperwork and some signatories she had to do before we leave. It was a relief finally that I got approved. Yey!
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
