Comments : We arrived to USCIS office about an hour before our appointment. We checked in and left our notice at the front desk. There were many couples in the waiting area. We waited about 3 hours. We thought that something is wrong but the USCIS personnel were assuring us that our turn will come. It seemed as they don't take people in order that they appointments were scheduled. Finally my husband's name was called. The interview went pretty smooth. The lady was very nice. We did not feel intimidated. She asked us all the questions from the application and circled the answers on the forms that we submitted. It seems like she was in the rush. She asked us for originals of documents that we submitted. She also asked us for our insurance documents and asked for couple pictures of us for her file. We thought that we will get approved. Then she went through our medical form and noticed that the doctor didn't check one of the boxes. She said that she approved our I130 but since the medical form was not correct she cannot approve I-485. She sent us off with RFE. We went to the doctor and mailed the form that Friday. We have not received any answers since then. We called the customer service but our case was not updated so they were not even aware that we already had our interview. The customer rep said that since we mailed our RFE they have 60 days to process it.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
