Comments : Our wait was longer after approval than it could have been because USCS mistakenly sent our approved petition to NRC (National records Center) instead of NRC. When we felt that something was not right about our wait for the new case number from NVC, we asked Maryland State Senator Van Hollen to help locate our case - and they did. Without their intervention, USCIS would have kept telling us they are backlogged and we should just keep waiting and waiting.
After that everything went smooth!

Consulate Review: Warsaw, Poland
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 23, 2023
Embassy Review : Hello!

I had my K1 visa interview on Aug 10, 2023 in Poland.

Our Timeline:
NOA1 - Nov 2, 2021
NOA2 - Feb 11, 2023
Case In Transit - Jun 20, 2023
Appointment Eligibility Letter - Jul 14, 2023
Interview - Aug 10, 2023
VOH - Aug 16, 2023

Interview was scheduled at 9:15. I was there at 9:00: gave my passport and DS-160 to the lady from window #2 outside if the embassy and then was guided to walk into the Embassy building to the windows #1-2 (Spoiler: WRONG! K1s should go to Window #13 just like other Immigrant visas).

At the window #13 you receive a number (when that number pops up you will see to which window you will need to go for your interview later) and present all of your documents. The officer took the following documents: my passport, 2 photographs, birth certificate + copy + English translation, police certificate + English translation, I-134, my fiance's renewed letter of intent to marry (as it was more than 4 months after our case had been approved).

After that I waited for about 20 minutes before they called me for the interview. Everyone was super friendly and polite which helps you when you are so super stressed!

The officer asked me only a few questions:
How did I meet my fiance and how our relationship went from there?
What is my occupation?
What is his occupation?
Have we met in any countries besides the US and has he ever been in my hime country?

That was it, my visa was approved and I couldn't believe that was the end of it! Yay!

Then I waited fir my visa to be printed for 3 business days (+ Saturday, Sunday, and a holiday on Tuesday) and received an email that my passport had been collected from the Embassy. The email was received at 2:30pm and I sprinted to the mail post immediately. Had my passport with the visa on hand by 3:30pm.

I wish everyone the biggest luck out there! May your love stay strong throughout this long and challenging process!
Rating : Very Good

Congrats on your interview. What were the earliest interview dates when you selected your interview? My fiance and I are also going through Poland.

Hi! My interview will be on August 10. But I can still help you with the dates in Warsaw. There are a couple dates available in July, plenty of dates in August (which is weird, it was fully booked), a couple days in September. From then on there are a plenty available dates. Do you or your fiancé know about chats in Telegram? There are tons of good info abt interview in Poland. I also updated Warsaw Embassy page here on Visa Journey.

I do not know about the chats in Telegram. Can you recommend some? My fiance is Russian as well. We received our NOA2 on May 17th, 2023.

Hi! Thanks and happy new years! I just got my approval notice online. Think the card will come in January.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
