Consulate Review: Ankara, Turkey

Event Description
Review Date : August 17, 2023
Embassy Review : Overall it was a very easy process. Our interview was at 8am and we got there 1 hour early. Around 7:30am they let everyone in. My fiancé told me that they first called her to ask for documents: birth certificate, affidavit of support, letter of intents, police clearance. From there she waited 20 minutes and was called over to the booth. She told me the interviewer was super friendly and it was extremely relaxing and an easy experience. They asked her how we met, what does your fiancé do for work, do you have wedding plans. From there, he said congratulations you’re approved and you’ll have your passport mailed to you next week. Definitely nothing to feel anxious or nervous about. Just come prepared with documents and answer normal questions and you’re good to go.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Washington DC
Event Description
Entry Date : 2023-08-30
Embassy Review : Dulles International airport immigration took about 1 hour waiting in line. When my fiancee got the officer, they asked her for medical and asked about wedding plans. The process took about 5 minutes and she got stamped and gained entry without any issues. Just be ready to wait an extra long time in the line because Dulles can get busy depending on what time you arrive.

My fiancee is a Russian National, but she has had a Turkish Residence Permit for the past 2 years. We will reach out to NVC to see if we can get our case transferred to Ankara.
PakistaniRussian on 2023-03-23 said:
Received NOA2 today in the mail. Reached you to NVC about transferring our case to Ankara from Poland. They informed us that we need to wait until NVC receives the K1 Petition. The estimate time for them to receive the petition is another 2 weeks. I'll post another update in 2 weeks.
PakistaniRussian on 2023-06-06 said:
After 75 days, NVC finally got my petition and assigned me a case number. They also updated our case to go from Warsaw to Ankara. The next step is waiting for NVC to send our case to Ankara.
PakistaniRussian on 2023-06-13 said:
Looks like NVC sent the case last week and according to DHL, it was received and delivered and Ankara today. Next step is waiting for instructions from embassy and finally booking an interview appointment.

Ankara Embassy received my case and it went to ready status today. Now I'm going to try and get an interview date. Currently, the system says that no interviews are available.
PakistaniRussian on 2023-07-10 said:
I created a bot to check and refresh the scheduled interview/pay MRV fee page to see if there were any changes. Today I got a notification of a change and there was 1 appointment available, on September 21st, 2023. I paid my fee and now my interview is scheduled.
PakistaniRussian on 2023-07-25 said:
Medical exam is scheduled for August 22nd (can't schedule more than 30 days before the interview).

Hey, curious, which email did you use to email the embassy for the K1 instructions. My fiancée tried to send an email to the one listed on the state gov website, and received an email stating that our email wouldn't be responded to. Thank you.

Ankara Embassy sent me an automated e-mail stating my interview date was changed from September 21st to September 14. Not sure why this happened, but its a welcome change because we get to interview 7 days earlier :)
PakistaniRussian on 2023-08-14 said:
Found a random earlier date this week, so we booked our appointment for August 17th - 3 days from now. We got the medical completed today as well so it was just in time for our appointment.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
