Comments : I am a Chinese citizen living in Japan. Before applying for the interview, I received an extra documents request from the embassy by mail and email. I prepared all papers as soon as possible and mailed them right before Golden Week. Then I booked an interview on June 2, so officers had all May to check my background. For the documents that I have submitted, I was told that I didn't need to bring new copies to the interview.

The interview was easy and I was told that my visa was approved at the site. The visa status had been "Refused" for the next 5 days and was changed to "Issued" on the 6th day. Visa and an orange envelope arrived on the next day.

The requested documents were:
BIrth certification
Copy of resident card
A statment of why I came to Japan
Previous passport
DS-160 Confirmation page, two photos, and copy of passport bio page
Processing
Estimates/Stats :
Your I-129f was approved in 206 days from your NOA1 date.

Hey. My case status show “ready” on April 12 at the website. When do you get package 3 and schedule the interview appointment? Please reply me ASAP. My wechat # is csl_love_tyc. We can talk by wechat if you have one. Thank you very much.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
