Comments : IMPORTANT: Due to Covid restrictions, Morrocans require special permission (الترخيص للسفر) to travel out of the country. The Moroccan beneficiary must apply for this at his/her local government office (العمالة). Do this immediately after receiving your visa in hand. It may take a few days to receive it. They might demand further evidence beyond the K1 visa. Some have had success by showing a reservation at a U.S. courthouse for a civil marriage ceremony. In our case, we did not have this, so we showed them a printout from the U.S. State Department explaining what a K1 visa is, along with an Arabic translation. They eventually accepted this. It took us three days.

Any confirmation on the NVC receive?

Hi Adrian. I never received any confirmation from NVC stating that they RECEIVED our case. On March 23, I sent NVC an email requesting the status of my case. On March 31, NVC sent me an email stating "The National Visa Center sent your K1 visa petition to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in Casablanca, Morocco." I hope that helps. Good luck!

I appreciate it! Thank you

Hi, My fianceé just completed the DS-160. How long did it take for the consulate to call for an interview?
blank avatar O & H on 2021-02-25 said:
We completed the DS-160 on 04/03/2020, shortly after our application left the NVC processing stage and was being forwarded to the consulate. I'm not sure if completion of the DS-160 is what determines how soon you get your interview date. I think they go by the date the packet is received from the NVC. Anyway, I just checked your timeline and it seems like you got your interview date. Congratulations! I hope all goes well with you. Please see the note on my timeline for an important reminder about permission to travel (something you will need after getting the visa approved). Good luck!

I just checked it and will forward it to my fianceé! Thank you for the info and congratulations on the visa!

Hi there! Does anyone know where in Casablanca you go to get the court records? My fiancé who is there doesn’t know. Thanks!

Hi. I think by "court records", you are referring to the السجل العدلي Sijil Adli. This is a criminal record maintained by the court. My fiancee was located in Meknes, so she went to the courthouse المحكمة in Meknes to get this document. Casablanca is a much larger city so there may be multiple different courthouses. I would suggest you ask in the Morocco forums on this website, to get an answer from someone who's done it in Casablanca.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
