Embassy Review : Hello!

I had my interview at the Paris Embassy on Sept. 2nd 2020 at 10am.

I arrived at 9.30am and there were already around 20 people waiting in line. Because of COVID19 they only allowed small groups of people inside so I waited outside for two hours.

I finally went through security where they check your passport, your interview letter, your police certificate and your DS-260. They take your phone/headphones/electronics/cream/every kind of liquid stuff you have and keep them in a ziplock bag.

When I got in, I did not wait and was asked to go to a booth where a lady asked for my passport, interview letter, police certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate, DS-260, 2 photographs. She took my finger prints and then asked me to sit and wait to be called for my interview.

I waited for two hours looking at people being interviewed as it all happens in the same room (I thought you were called in a closed room and sit around a table).

When I finally heard my name, I went to a new booth. The guy was very friendly (despite the fact that he already saw around 100 people before me!). He first asked me to raise my right hand and swear that all the information I gave in my file and all those I was about to give were true. Then he took my finger prints (right hand only).

He asked me:
- who is my petitioner (my husband)
- how did we met
- was my husband born in the US (no, he was born in France but his father is American)
- why did he moved to the US
- what's my job in France
- am I going to look for the same job in the US
- about my sponsor

He didn't ask for any pictures but I've heard him asking that to people who were interviewed before me.

It all went very well and at the end he told me "congratulations, your going to get your green card".

I left my passeport that should be mailed to me within 10 days.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
