Event Description
Review Date : March 23, 2018
Embassy Review : Upon entry, we passed through airport-style security and checked in at the reception desk. We had arrived about 20 minutes early and were asked to sit in the large waiting area. The waiting area was large and airy, with a children's area in the corner that had PBS Kids on TV.

We did have to wait about 45 minutes after our appointment time to be called in, but it was close to the end of the day so delays may have piled up. The officer who called us in was polite and efficient, and she presented all information clearly. It was clear she had gone through our case prior to the interview. We went through the applications to confirm our answers to the questions and were asked to provide a few original versions of documents for which we submitted copies. The officer informed us that while the evidence was sound and our case was solid, she wasn't explicitly granting approval at that moment. Some details required a final verification, which she intended to do immediately upon conclusion of the interview. We were given a document to sign confirming that we are aware of the requirement to submit form I-751 to remove conditions on the marriage-based AOS. The next morning, the online case status changed to "Card is being produced". We do recognize that we have been very fortunate with our AOS timeline.

We are pleased with the professionalism of everyone with whom we interacted, and by our overall experience at the Detroit office.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
