any update from NVC?
blank avatar Youssuf on 2020-12-07 said:
no unfortunately, nothing yet. It's been 38 days since approval. I called NVC few times already and they say they don't have anything for me yet. I called USCIS and they said case is not sent yet to NVC, even though approval letter say that they have sent it.

What's your visa category? Is it IR1/CR1?
blank avatar Youssuf on 2020-12-07 said:
I’m not sure which one is it, but I’m a USC and wife lives abroad. I think it’s IR1
blank avatar S,M on 2020-12-07 said:
K best of luck with NVC, for us it's been more then four months nd still no response.
blank avatar Youssuf on 2020-12-07 said:
OMG, are you the same category like me? Also did you get an approval letter that say case was sent to department of state? Because I got that already
blank avatar S,M on 2020-12-07 said:
Yeah we also have IR1/CR1, case was approved on 20th July, got approval notice but no response from NVC so far. I hope things go much better for you guys than us.
blank avatar Youssuf on 2020-12-07 said:
Oh wow, and I thought I was unlucky, well I hope we both hear something very soon. Are you calling them?
blank avatar S,M on 2020-12-07 said:
I wish so. Yeah I did email NVC. They said they haven't received our case nd USCIS said they already have send our case to NVC. don't know what's wrong.
blank avatar Youssuf on 2020-12-07 said:
Well in my case USCIS say they didn’t send it yet, but my i130 approval letter says they did. Anyway my advice is to schedule a call with a tier 2 officer, also go online to USCIS.gov and select a service inquiry for case outside normal processing time, also reach out to your local Congress person. Trust me when you do these things eventually someone will do something. Keep calling and inquiring, otherwise they will take their sweet time.
blank avatar Youssuf on 2020-12-07 said:
One last question, does your online status says "Case was sent to department of State" ?
blank avatar S,M on 2020-12-07 said:
Yeah
blank avatar Youssuf on 2020-12-07 said:
Then it's definitely in NVC, how long it took to get you this update after approval?
blank avatar S,M on 2020-12-07 said:
On 20th July it was case sent to dept of state nd on 22nd it say case got approved
blank avatar Youssuf on 2020-12-07 said:
Hmm that's weird, isn't supposed to be the other way around? Approved then sent to Dept. of State?! If that's the case then its still in USCIS
blank avatar S,M on 2021-02-15 said:
Hey what's the recent update on your case
blank avatar Youssuf on 2021-02-19 said:
Case is in embassy now, but the embassy is closed due to Covid, what about you?
blank avatar S,M on 2021-02-19 said:
online case status still is showing approved on this state
blank avatar S,M on 2021-02-19 said:
sorry on this date
blank avatar S,M on 2021-02-19 said:
but thank GOD done with NVC and DQ, now waiting for the NVC to schedule interview
blank avatar Youssuf on 2021-02-19 said:
I'm glad you are done with NVC as well. Hopefully soon you will have your interview. Theres a group on Facebook called NVC Group Help, they have a lot of people waiting in Islamabad embassy and they always update on where the embassy is at.
blank avatar S,M on 2021-02-19 said:
Hey can you plz copy the link of that group here
blank avatar S,M on 2021-02-19 said:

blank avatar Youssuf on 2021-02-19 said:

Hello Youssuf, I saw your case and it seems mine is same about security clearance. We got NOA1 2020.03 and still waiting for NOA2 and stuck in security clearance from 2020.01. Do you know how long does security clearance takes? can we do something here? Or what only we can do is waiting? I can’t see any case holding that long on this step. So frustrating..
blank avatar Youssuf on 2021-09-27 said:
Hi, I feel your frustration and been there, but trust me your will forget about all this when you get the approval. Unfortunately there’s not much you can do, I suggest to keep making inquiries and try to expedite, you won’t loose anything at all, if anything it might get them to check your case. Which service center is your case at? Vermont?
blank avatar Jesssskim on 2021-09-28 said:
Hi! Yes it transferred to Vermont. It was Nebraska at first place though. It’s really hard to control all anxiety and too tired of waiting.. We inquired expedite several times but same answer is coming back that because of security clearance they can’t do anything. We just don’t understand this silly situation because my husband is USC and even serving for Navy. Looking for lawyer is helpful? I have no idea.. thank you for your answer tho, it makes me feel better

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
