Comments : This process was made a lot easier using the guides provided by visajourney.com. In my situation, I am self employed and I quit a full time job in April 2016. So, I was concerned with my recent financial changes affecting the K-1. The interviewer only requested the Affidavit of Support and supporting documents, which were the bank details for all accounts, self employment letter and the most recent tax return and the W-2's from all three tax years. These questions were asked: 1) why are you going to the US? to marry my fiancee 2) what does your fiancee do for a living? She is an accountant 3) What does an accountant do?payroll, bookkeeping, and tax return services. 4) asked have you ever been married before? no .... that was basically it and the original pictures and plastic sheet protectors were returned. White paper provided with location to pick up passport in 10 biz days. Thank God for his mercy and grace throughout this entire ordeal.

Consulate Review: Nigeria
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : Very good experience at the consulate.... I want to provide my experience as someone who waited outside of the Embassy while my fiance was being interviewed..... appointment was at 630 am.... by 500 am we were in a cab on our way to VI... we arrived and joined a group of people waiting by the carpark for the appointment time.... the Embassy started processing people by 6am... they went through security, which we onlookers could witness, then they went into a separate holding before entering the Embassy. That is all I could see from my standpoint.... everyone who was waiting on someone who was interviewing that day had to wait inside the carpark.... being the naive US citizen I am, I was thinking we would be waiting somewhere with chairs and a restroom....no waiting room is available... I stood or sat in the carpark for 2.5 hours awaiting my fiance to return... which wasn't too long at all... There are vendors selling food and such... there's even a local restaurant within the carpark where you can sit down and enjoy a meal....the restroom is typical of those found in Nigeria... you pay to use them.... there are also vendors available to print last minute documents and to assist in ordering paperworks appropriately for those interviewees who need those services... from the carpark area, you are able to see people returning from their interviews and may even get a glimpse into whether they received acceptance or a denial .... people were there for all sorts of visas.... although I waited in the carpark, it was not unbearable as you are not alone and the comfortability level was adequate. It did drizzle on and off that morning, so I suggest bringing an umbrella if you interview date is in the rainy season javascript:emoticon('')

This process was made a lot easier using the guides provided by visajourney.com. I front loaded the petition so the only info the Embassy did not have was the affidavit of support... The interviewer only requested the Affidavit of Support and supporting documents, which were the bank details for all accounts, self employment letter and the most recent tax return and the W-2's from all three tax years. *Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
