Consulate Review: Bogota, Colombia
Review Topic: General Review
Event Description
Review Date : March 28, 2016
Embassy Review : The interview was pretty easy, also because many people were out of Bogota because vacations of the end of the year, the traffic was perfect, no rush, no much time waiting inside the embassy offices. The whole thing took just 2 hours. During the interview, they canceled my B2 tourist visa and never asked me for extra documents except a police background check from my trip to Argentina back in 2012 (I was ther for 6+ months). He said "your visa was approved", but, only if I send to them those extra documents. It took me 20+ days and extra $200 usd to have the police background from Argentina. And they just asked me to email them the documents in a pdf file. After that in just 4 days I received the notification via email, to go to DHL office to get my brand new Visa K1! Good luck for every one, and this is just a guide, because every case is pretty special and different.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
