Comments : The consul told me I was approved but he had to wait a response from the computer and it didn't came. So I have to wait one day or two to receive a confirmation email. I had to wait a month for my visa because they have a new online appointment system since May 2014 and was a "victim" of a failure of the new system. A lady called me to apologize and people in the embassy are very nice and helpful.

Event Description
Review Date : July 29, 2014
Embassy Review : I went to my appointment on June 26th 2014 at 2pm. I was there at 1:30pm. At the first security check (in the street) I was not on the list! Hopefully I had printed all confirmations, so the security officer called the embassy and then let me in. I waited for about 15 minutes outsite in the street then around 2pm, everyone was allowed to wait at the door of the embassy. An officer came and asked our names, one by one, and let us enter. There, is a security check like in the airport, they kept my phone and my box of candies, and gave me a ticket to pick them back. Then I entered a room and I had to chose on a board with buttons why I was there, then received a ticked with a number. I sat there for about 30 to 45 minutes. There is a TV showing a news us tv channel. On the side of the TV there is another screen that shows the ticket number. So when my number showed up on the screen I went to the window counter, and a nice lady asked my documents. She took some originals and for some, just simple copies.
She said to go back waiting, I will be called again. I think I waited again 30 to 45 minutes then back to that lady, she said all documents are ok, then I got my finger print taken. I asked her if I could have a copy with a stamp of the embassy on it of my vaccination record, and she gave it to me. Then she said to go back to wait, I will be called for an interview with the consul. That lady was very nice and it was ok to talk in French (I did like it better for the documents parts and some questions I had).
Again 30 or 45 minutes (I had not my phone, so no clock with me lol), I was called on another window counter. The consul officer was there. He asked me if I can talk in English because his French is not that good (he is a very nice person really). So he told me my rights and what I risk if I have not said the truth or gave false documents. Then he told me bofore I answer how many years in jail I could have if that was the case, then told me I have to swear and sign electronicaly (with my finger print) that I told the truth. I was not really asked any questions and nobody asked me any pictures or any call logs with my fiancé. He entered something in the computer and was waiting something back to happen, but it didn't... So he said I can go, because for him, everything is ok and I should receive my visa soon.

After 2 days I checked my DS-260 status online on the CEAC website. A case was created on June 27th, and the status was something like "administrative something.." then I checked back a few days later and then I saw "Issued" since July 1st. YAY!
But... After 2 weeks of waiting, I was very worried to receive nothing, no email, no phone call... So I tried to call them, but the only service you can reach is the appointment service and these people can not really help. Except that one said that obviously there was a problem. They gave me many email adresses to try to get help. I did not really get helped immediately cause they will not react until there is not at least 3 weeks since your interview. So finaly I got one answer after many emails sent to tell they had a problems with their new online appointment system. Then on the 25th July a lady called me from the embassy, she explained me they had problems with the system then she told me my visa will be sent the same day, she explained to me what to do once I will enter the USA and she really apologized a lot. That was a Friday afternoon. I got my visa today, a Tuesday morning.
So except the issue they had (every new system needs beta testers lol) and the stress to see nothing happening, the embassy experience was good. Again, very friendly people there and they talk French, Dutch or English.
Rating : Very Good

Could you please let me know how you receive the notice for the interview?

Hello. I checked online on my USCIS account, and there was a change. So I checked in the document section, and could read the letter. I received the real letter about 3 or 4 days later by mail. If you want more information let me know.

Did you receive the notice by Email as well?
Arcadoli on 2018-11-14 said:
No, I did not. I was checking my USCIS account and found out a letter was on his way. You can check your account from time to time so you can see if something changed.

Hi again! Congratulations on the approval! I finally got the notice for the interview. How was the interview? Did you study all the questions for the test?
Arcadoli on 2018-12-06 said:
Hello. Thank you! Good luck for your interview. Yes I knew all the 100 questions. I did my n-400 while my i-751 still pending. Glad my spouse was around because the interview letter never mentionned it would be 2 interviews at the same time! If it is your case, go with your spouse and have some proof (originals of the copies you sent) like joined tax returns, wedding pictures, common bank account stub, etc.

Thank you! I’m applying by myself. Ok.. I will try to remember all the questions for the test..

When is your oath ceremony? Did they give you the date after you passed the test?
Arcadoli on 2018-12-14 said:
Hello. After I passed the test, the lady gave me a document, stating I passed the test, but no decision could't be made immediately. She explained it is because my I-751 is still pending. That was on December 4. I was checking my USCIS online account everyday. And on December 12th, I read online I was approved!!! For some reason, the case completion time changed from February 2019 to March 2019. But today, December 14th, I received an email saying an action was taken on my case. So I loged in to my online account, and my ceremony is scheduled for January 4th at 8 AM, yayyyyyy !!!!!
blank avatar Pon on 2018-12-15 said:
Congratulations!!! Thank you for the information. Now I know they wouldn’t give you the date at the time of interview. I’ll have to wait the notice again. Good luck on the ceremony! Your journey will end soon!

Yes, very soon :) Good luck to you too!

Congratulations!!! Now your journey is ended. I passed my civic test yesterday and I am waiting for the notice for the interview. Did you apply at Chicago? Was the ceremony at the same place as the interview? Were you able to apply for the passport after the ceremony? Do you know how long it would take to get the passport?
Arcadoli on 2019-01-05 said:
Hello and thank you! Congratulations for your test! Yes I applied at Chicago/ The ceremony here in Cleveland happened in the Courthouse (and that is good since I changed my name at the same time). After the ceremony you could apply to vote (that was at the same place). For my passport I'll go tomorrow. From what I know, it could take 2 to 3 weeks to receive it. My husband received his in 2 weeks.

I hope you will receive it soon too! If you do not have a USCIS account, create one. You can see faster the letter, before you receive it by regular mail :) Thanks a lot :) Good luck!

Hello and congratulations on successfully arriving to the end of this process. I am still waiting. Would you be kindly share what questions were asked from you during i-751 interview? THANK YOU very much
blank avatar Pon on 2019-01-14 said:
Thank you!! Yes I’m almost finished the process. I’m sorry but I haven’t heard of I-751, what was it for? I applied my green card through employee’s support and I have never been to an interview for the green card.
Arcadoli on 2019-01-16 said:
Hello Pon, Hellp Parsi2017, Pon: I-751 is when you arrive in USA with a visa for fiancé. The first green card you receive is conditional (2 years). Before it ends, you have to file for I-751 to lift the condition and receive a regular 10 years green card. Parsi: I had my I-751 interview at the same time I had my N-400 civic and English tests. (It was not written on the letter I received for my N-400 tests!!!). They basically asked me what they asked in the forms sent : Who is my spouse, when and how we met, etc. Do I have a job, do I file taxes. They also asked to see proof we are still married : comon bank account, bills, tax return, etc. Pictures also. I had not all that with me since I wasn't aware I would have that interview! But it was enough to show up with my spouse. Good luck!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
