Event Description
Review Date : August 8, 2013
Embassy Review : I arrived at the Embassy at 7:15am for my 8am appointment. My sister had an appointment of 7:30am but we both entered at the same time. We waited in line outside for about 15 minutes while they checked everyone's appointment letter (both immigrant and non-immigrant applicant)

First Stop: Security
Of course you this the US we are talking about so everything is scanned and we had to take off our belts and walk through the infamous metal detector. Once that was done we proceeded to the courtyard.

Second Stop: Courtyard
Got to the courtyard at 7:35am. This is where we played "musical chairs". Not much happened here except the sun was HOT. The musical chairs continued for about 20minutes until I was on the front row>>> finally AC room here I come.

Third stop: Check point #1
We were directed about 8:00am (give or take a few minutes) inside where we had to join a "sorting line". The bar-code for everyone was scanned and the immigrant applicants received a paper with Axxx on it (I got A130). She also took the first page of my Interview letter. After which we were told to go through the door and make a right.

Forth stop: Checkpoint #2 / Interview lobby
Once in the lobby we listened for our numbers I wasn't their very long before I heard "A130 please come to Window 5". I got to the window and she asked for my PP and visa pictures. She took my fingerprints, and then asked for the updated police certificate and my parents tax forms (note: she did not ask for the No Impediment.... but I had it non the less).
After all this she gave me a letter to sign that stated: "....I cannot marry prior to arriving in the US". She compiled my documents gave me back my PP and told me to have a seat and listen for my name.

About 15 minutes later my name was called and I approach "Window 7". I handed the gentleman my PP and he asked the following questions:
1. Who is the petitioner?
2. Where does she live?
3. What do you do for work?
4. Who do you live with?
5. Are you and your son's mother married?
and the final question......
6. Did you register for DHL? (When I heard this question I smiled)
After that he said .... "Thank You, Your Visa has been Approved. Track you package on DHL"

That was it for me. My sister's name didnt call until 45 minutes later. and the only question she got was:
1. Who is the petitioner?
2. Where does she live?

That's it.... the the lady said "Thank You, Your Visa has been Approved. Track you package on DHL"

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
