Fiance arrived on flight from Ukraine - actually went Ukraine to Munich to IAD. She arrived at IAD and I provided her with a US sim card on my last trip there to pop into her phone upon landing so she could call me when she landed. Once she got to immigration she had about an hour wait to get to see an officer. THey asked her my name, verified my street address, asked where we met, my age and when we would get married. Also asked if she was bringing any meat products, vegetables, drugs, alcohol or weapons. THey took her fingerprints, took a picture of her eyes (They have a new system at IAD that they can tell if the person in the passport is the same person standing in front of the officer). He smiled and said good luck and they then took her to another room for processing. She said there were about 70 people in this other room and she called me to say it would probably be another 2 or 3 hours. It turned out to be about 15 minutes, the officer gave her passport back to her and said good luck. All in all she said the process was pretty easy and everyone was very respectful.
