Arrived on a China Airlines flight at 7:50pm on a Tuesday night. Was the usual amount of people, and for the first time I couldn't use my mobile passport/ global entry and be done in under 5 min. because I obviously wanted to come thru with my fiancee. Followed the signs and got in the line for foreigners with a Visa. Was about a 15 min. wait in the Que to get before the CBP officer. We had both filled out the blue entry card to be safe, and walked up to the desk/ window. Officer was very nice and I handed him the packet, my passport, and her passport with the visa in it. He took my passport and scanned it, looked at the screen, and said global entry... nice, your done, and handed my passport back. Scanned my fiancee passport next, had her do the 4 fingers on the fingerprint scanner, and looked at the screen for a few min max, asked her her age, and the age of her son next, and she was pretty nervous and kinda stuttered with the answers, but managed to get them out. He started flipping thru the packet nodding every so often seeming content and he got to the end and said wheres the medical form? I said it should be in there, but I do have our copy of it also, but as far as I know the envelope has never been touched. He flipped thru it again and found the DS-3025, reviewed it with a glance, and said welcome to America, good luck with your wedding, and have a nice day. Handed the blue card back and we were on our way in maybe 15 min. or so at the desk/window. I'm thinking ok that was easy, so far so good, I'm sure were going to catch an issue farther down the line. Went and gathered out bags and were loading them on a cart and I'm thinking great, it looks like we have more luggage than the caravan approaching the southern boarder, prepare for the full blue glove treatment soon. I personally have never used a cart even when out of the country for months as I pack light, so I am thinking this might be a red flag. One bag and a backpack and I have always been good. We get in the line to go past the officer looking at the electronic tickets and collecting them, and sending people to secondary every once in a while. I see his hand full of the white computer printed tickets, and we are the only ones approaching with the old style blue card, hold my breath as I hand him the card, he takes a quick look and waves us thru. Super sweet, I kick the cart into high gear and make a beeline for the exit before someone changes their mind, my fiancee is just following me not knowing what to expect next. Up the ramp and around the corner and she sees all the people waiting for their family and friends, and all the hugging and things going on, and she can't believe it. I say welcome to America darling and she just hugs me and says that's it I am really here, I said yes, the first day of your new life has just started, now lets get to In-N-Out for that double double animal style I promised you. While she was standing there taking it all in I pulled up her I94 on my phone, and used google print to send it to the printer at my house in Las Vegas where it was waiting for me when I got home about 5 hours later. Really smooth and fast, and everyone was friendly. Now our new life begins.......
