We arrived to Houston from Managua. We walked fast to the US and LPR and it wasn't as crowded. We waited about 10 min to get to the CBP officer who was nice enough, he stamped my husbands passport with his entry. He took my picture and fingerprints, then he kept the sealed envelope and told us to go on the side and wait for a different officer. After 7 min or so, a diff officer came in and told me to come to a different room, he said my husband wasn't allowed inside. There were about 25 people waiting inside, and 4 officers taking care of the paperwork. I figured I was going to wait a long time because they were going very slow. After about 15 min of waiting, 3 different officers came in the room and took some of the files (it seems they wanted to help with the load of work), my file was among them so they took me and 7 other people to waiting room number 2. I waited about another 15 min in there, until the officer called my name, he told me sign a form and took my index fingerprint. Then I was told to sit down again. I waited another 6 or 7 min and he called me again he gave me my passport back with the CR-1 stamp and gave me a little piece of paper explaining what it meant. Total waiting time might have been between 35-40 min but it did feel like hours.
The officer who gave me my passport was really nice, they were laid back and nice people. So overall I believe it was a good experience, no questions were asked.
