Had planned for a long time to fly via Dublin, (I'm a guinness drinker) and did not want to miss a final true pint of the black stuff on irish soil before starting my new life.

Any way. I got into the queue for going through imigration, smiled and handed the envelope to a blonde haired lady who opened it, checked it's contents and then asked me "When did I get married" I of course replied with "I'm Not but hope to be in a couple of weeks time". She then asked me to follow her. Looking behind me at the rest of the people in line and noticed a few eyebrows went up. ;o)

Got asked to stand outside an office door for about 30 seconds and the blonde haired lady told me to wait to be called and then returned to her station. A plesant gentleman asked me into the office which was a similar affair to the london embassy but with one cubicle with a stand up "bank teller" type desk.

The guy jokingly said that this was my final chance to turn around and he could put the paperwork through the shredder to which I laughed and said " not in a million years " he laughed and said he was only joking. He gave some advice about how the AOS process works and to get it submitted as soon as possible, And also suggested that I apply for a waiver if I need to leave the country due to family emergency etc, which I thought was a nice touch.

two minutes later the visa / passport was stamped and handed back to me. congratulated me and welcomed me to the united states

Zero Hastle, was done and dusted in maximum 10 minutes tops.
