Review Topic: K1 Visa

I just had my interview today. it was easy and quick since only one person there on immigrant visa line. It took me 45 minutes from arrival until I got out from the embassy.

I arranged my time to arrive 30 minutes before the interview time, so when I arrived there the first security guard told me to go ahead (I didn't have to wait outside). Then before I go to the second security guard, I have to wash my hands first. When I got to the second security guard, we have to put all docs in one tray and also our bag, then the other tray is for our electronic devices (I put all electronic devices in one medium pouch). Then I got in to the building to gave my electronic devices and they were checking my bag through Xray machine.

They directed me to go to the second building and there was a security guard and he told me to wash my hands right before the door (you can use the restroom also here). I entered the building and met the next security guard. He asked what kind of visa I applied then directed me to the waiting area of immigrant visa. I probably waited there around 15 - 20 minutes (I can't check the time, they had my watch).

I was waiting there, there was one person there doing the interview. At one point, I heard the CO said "I'm sorry we can't approve your visa ..........." (I can't hear anything else after that). It made a little bit nervous to be honest.

Then the officer announced my name to go to the counter and she checked all of my docs and also asked few questions, gave information while she prepared, separated, return unneeded documents. She mentioned to not forget to bring the medical report (she said, many people forgot about this) when I move to USA and also my vaccine book that I got from the hospital when I got my vaccines (not covid vaccine) and to make sure I have the copy. She said the POE nowadays asked for this vaccine book. If they asked it, I should gave them the copy not the original. Then she gave me the orange paper to read while waiting for the interview. Oh, and she asked who is this? (pointing to I-134 of our Co-sponsor which is my fiancé's father). Asked what he does, I told her, he was retired then she asked about one document that stated he is retired, I told her I don't have that (hope this won't be a problem later).

Then around 5-10 minutes the CO called my name to go to the interview counter. I took an oath, raised my right hand, then took my biometric / finger print scan, then CO started asking questions. These were the questions CO asked :

1. Do you get the orange paper? what is it about?
2. How did you meet your fiancé?
3. What does he do?
4. Where does your fiancé live?
5. Have you been married before?
6. Has your fiancé been married before?
7. Have you lived/worked abroad?
8. Have your fiancé come to Indonesia?
9. When was the last time you and your fiancé met ?
10. When are you planning to get married ?
11. When was the last time you talk to your fiancé ?

Then the CO gave me the white paper and congratulates me and said "Enjoy West Virginia " . my Visa is approved!!
