My interview was last week and I have got the notification that my visa will arrive tomorrow exactly one week after the interview.
I was EXTREMELY nervous as I have had a whole year to think of all the worst case scenarios and unknowns during this pandemic.
I arrived about 25 mins before my appointment time. There were two queues, one for US citizens and one for visas. You have to go up and check in with a guy before joining the queue. Because my appointment was in the immigrant section he sent me straight through and I did not have to queue. You go through like an airport security check. I had a backpack with not much in it except my papers and purse etc. The building itself I found quite intimidating but I think because I was so nervous anything would have been intimidating. You then go to like a reception and they give you a ticket and then you wait upstairs. Apparently there are great view of the thames from the embassy but I was too nervous to do anything apart from sit and try to calm down.
I got called up after about 10mins. The first guy was British and seemed a little grumpy lol - it was a hot day to be sitting in a suit. He had a check list and asked me for my documents. He only wanted my passport, birth cert, acro, new letter of intent, DS160, visa photographs and the affidavit of support. He did not ask for any supporting documents for the affidavit of which I had like 50 pages lol. Then he told me to sit and that was that.
