My interview at the Ukrainian embassy was a very nice and positive experience. I had my appointment at 8 am, we arrived in time. There were some other people waiting with us, but not many. Make sure you know where to keep your possessions. Many people mentioned there were using paid locking boxes in front of the embassy. On that day I did not see any of those. We were allowed to bring inside documents only.

At the entrance security guard asked me for my passport and our son's passport (we were interviewed together). They let us in and we went through gates ( very much like at the airport). Then we went to another building where security guards asked me for passport delivery confirmation. We were assigned a number and in a few minutes we were asked to go to the window #10. The lady there took my biometrics, asked for originals, one passport picture, and proof of relationship (take as much as you can). She also gave me a paper with the oath so I can read it before going to the next step.

We waited about 15-20 min and we were told to go to the window #12. We were interviewed by a nice smiling lady. She talked to me in English. Our son was interviewed in Ukrainian. I said the oath before we started.

List of questions:
Who is your petitioner?
How we met?
When we got married?
When we got engaged?
How often does he visit?
What is my husband's job?
Where does he live?
What do I know about his city?
Previous marriages?
Kids?
Have I ever been to the US?

Questions for my son:
What does he think about his stepdad?
What does he think about moving to the US?

The consular returned me all the documents and approval for my visa. She gave me a yellow 221g for our son because his case didn't have a separate affidavit of support ( where he is listed as a principal applicant since he has a separate petition). Our documents got approved by NVC so we didn't know it's going to be a stumbling block for us. She said as soon as we upload a separate affidavit of support for CR2 we should contact the embassy and they will issue both visas at the same time.

Proof of relationship I provided: photos of us together, with family members and friends (about 15-20 photos), plane tickets from our trips together, hotel receipts, birthday cards, screenshots of chats, call logs, copies of health insurance. They did not ask me about any financial documents but I have copies of all of them.
