In January 2020, our US attorney scheduled the first available time available for an interview for 10am on February 14, 2020. We received notice a week before that his time had been moved up to 7:50am for the February 14 interview.

Our attorney instructed him not to bring his cell phone. But upon arrival he was told it is permitted; they simply hold the phone at the front desk until you depart.

He waited with four other K-1 applicants. He was seen fairly quickly and the process was fast. He was asked when we started dating, how often we had seen each other, when we became engaged. No challenging or difficult questions.

He had a Denial of Entry on his account from April 2019 when he came to visit me. CBP agents told him he couldn't do his online work while in the US while using ESTA. So he was sent back to Chile. The consulate employee asked him about it. He explained that he was denied entry because he works online and didn't know that wasn't permitted on an ESTA while visiting the US. The employee simply said, "Oh, ok." And then told him he was approved and congratulated him. Overall, a quick, good experience for my fiance.
