Arrived at the embassy about an hour or so before my fiance's appointment. We waited outside on bench by the lovely water area they have outside the building. Approximately 15 minutes before the appointment, we approached the entrance. We heard instructions to have out the DS-160 confirmation page and my fiance's visa ready. We were then told that normally I would not be permitted in the interview, but they granted me access after presenting identification (driver's license was sufficient). Again, this is all outside the building. Upon entrance to the building, we were greeted by security who performed an airport-like security search with the exception of having to open an app on our cell phones. I guess to demonstrate that they were actually only cell phones. We were then told to go through a set of doors that led to an another building. We were told to skip the queue that would be in the next building and go to the front of the line. We did this with some confusion as there was no one in the next building who immediately said to us to come to the front of the queue or indicate that it was acceptable. We were then given a print out with a number which would be use to track our appointment and took the lift to where the interviews take place. All in all the process took about one and a half to two hours. Most of the time spent waiting. They offices are set up similar to a bank where there's a window you approach and you make your transactions. There was two trips to the windows. The first trip to present the requested documents to an embassy staff person and the second trip for the interview. We also had the added trip to the cashier as we scheduled the interview using the wrong site. They only accept cash at that point by the way. The actual interview consisted of a few questions, how did we meet, when did we plan to get married and I don't remember the others at this point lol. Anyway, the embassy staff person then told my fiance to expect his visa in the mail in approximately 7 days. The next day or so we received an email confirmation along with a tracking number for the visa delivery. This all turned out to be unnecessary as the interview took place on Monday and we received the visa and package on Thursday. All in all we only spent about 10 minutes with an actual embassy staff member and the remainder of the time was waiting. I do have to say it was nice to share experiences with the others waiting for their interviews as well. They all agreed that the process in not the most clear and straight-forward, but we were all SO thrilled to get through it.
