Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

We filed via DCF option. We had a good experience overall. After submission of the I-130 we were requested to submit more documents to the embassy about a week after submission (December 20,2018) (December 12 was the submission date). We finally submitted the extra documents at the end of January and was approved for interview in the first part of February. We decided to have our interview on March 25, 2019 (we were not in a hurry). The whole interview process went smoothly. We paid the fee at the embassy. Though it caused a delay in our interview process because after part 1 of the process we had to pay on the 2nd floor. Once paid the interview process continued. We were eventually given a 221g and needed to submit more documents because they did not accept my late wife's death certificate or the marriage contract by itself. We were asked to submit my sponsors tax transcripts, the PSA copy of the advisory on marriages (they call it the CENOMAR), and the PSA copy of my late wife's death certificate. We submitted the extra documents on April 3rd. They received it via April 5th. We noticed date changes on the ceac site but maintained the Administrative Processing on April 8, 11, and 12. On April 15, the status changed to Issued. However Passover weekend came and the visa was not sent. There was another date change, but maintained the issued date on April 23rd (the real issued date) and finally the last date change (issued) was on April 25, when the visa was actually sent out from the Consular section. Our next process is the CFO which will be on June 10, 2019. Our travel to the USA is no June 24. Hope this helped you.
