**This review is being written on behalf of my fiance and his experience**
My fiance showed up to the consulate for his interview on March 7th, 2019 at 7:15. We were worried about our I-134 form as it was a copy and NOT the original. To our both surprise and relief... nothing was said. He was given his token number after paperwork was acquired and asked him to take a seat. The room was packed with people! An officer in the room had told my fiance that on a normal day they see about 120-130 interviews. TODAY they had a maximum record of 230 interviews!! You could tell that things were crazy busy. My fiance waited close to two hours before his token was called. He approached the counter where a middle-aged, brown hair, white man wearing glasses was waiting for him. He did not greet my fiance or say anything to him at first. Finally, he said hello and started immediately with "How did you meet your fiance?" He didn't ask my fiance any standard questions K1 interviewers ask:
1. How did you meet your fiance?
Answer
2. What does she do for work?
Answer
3. What types of jobs does she recruit for?
Answer
4. Why not get married while you were in the states working on the cruise ships?
(For the Record: My fiance had a C/D1 visa for working on ships and you can't get a marriage license with that type of visa)
5. What took so long for you to get married?
(Seriously? His divorce was finalized Nov 2017 and we applied for his visa in June 2018. What "long time" is he talking about?
During this time the interviewer was constantly rubbing his arms, shoulders, tapping his pen, click on his computer. Made little to no eye contact and got up twice during the interview to walk to another desk. After looking at one picture and a pamphlet for our wedding venue (looked at and asked for nothing else) he came back with a 221g for "Proof of Relationship." No reason was given. This experience was poor, to say the least. Now we are stuck with a 221g and more time has been added to our process. Most of the evidence was at the interview with my fiance to begin with. I guess it's a good thing I wasn't there because I would have to have been escorted off the premises javascript:emoticon('')
