I personally had a wonderful experience at this embassy. I found the officers/staff very personable, polite and friendly. I arrived early and since I had an 8:30am interview the embassy was just opening and there was a line outside. There was a sign regarding cell phones being banned inside and I freaked out a little because I had mine on me. I was prepared to leave it somewhere outside (hotel too far away) because I was NOT missing my interview but they allowed me to just use a locker in the security clearance room that you first enter which was awesome. They gave me a ticket to retrieve my phone after. Very organized, very accommodating.
I waited about 30 minutes to be called up to the initial desk. This was the part of the interview where they just wanted to ensure all your documents were with you and verified my information. I was told to have a seat and waited about another 30 minutes for my actual interview. I walked in finally and found the officer very warm and friendly. Asked me a few questions about how we met, our daughter we share, and our birthdays stuff like that. She then said “congratulations, you’ve been approvedâ€. I walked out ecstatic of course. Overall, it’s was a great experience especially since I got to spend a little time (not enough) in beautiful Montreal.
