Review Topic: K1 Visa

The usual process as mentioned by others - dont bring bags, some did bring in document bags, leave electronic valuables at security hut, waiting room/interview hatches etc.

There was a last-minute hitch with my DS160 doc and the Embassy were helpful - called me before arriving to highlight issue, facilitating change, allowing me to delay arrival time past the 8am appointment.

I was at the embassy from about 9:20 to 10:15. A few more arrived after me. Overall, Id guess about 30 candidates being processed for various visa types on the morning, perhaps an off-peak time of year.

K1 questions were straightforward about how we met, communicated, our families, work etc.

Just a general note on the K1 visa process at the Dublin embassy as I encountered it, don't see this written elsewhere:
Within a few days of Embassy receiving paperwork from State Dept they emailed us a 14 page PDF with info on docs to prep for interview (medical, police report, DS160, i134) and a "ready for interview" form to return by email when you have collected all docs (I had collected some in advance). Needed the State Dept case number (DBLxxxxxxxxxx) and DS160 ref on that form. Embassy responded 1 day later and provided an interview date for 6 days later, which I had to confirm on another site and pay fees/confirm passport courier. Looks like they do K1 interviews once or twice a month only.
