Had my interview on August 28 at 7:20. Arrived at the building at 6:50 and was allowed in at 07:10. Victor led us all in, gave us a list of documents to prepare and a form to fill in. Interestingly enough, they did not ask for evidence of relationship - during the interview, they referred only to the evidence we had submitted with our petition.

After twenty minutes or so, I was called to hand in the documents and have my fingerprints taken - the officer was incredibly polite and friendly. Then back to waiting: this time for the interview. As the consul started interviewing the applicant next to me, another booth opened and called my name. Another very friendly officer welcomed me, asked questions about how and when my fiancée and I had met, if and when she had met my family, when I had met hers, what the wedding plans were. After returning my expired passport with my valid tourist visa, she wished me all the best and I found myself a little stunned at how smooth and simple everything had been!

By 9:00 I was already back in the hotel. On Friday (3 days later), my status changed to “Issued” on the CEAC website.
