Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview was scheduled to take place at the Chicago office at 11:45 AM, August 9, 2018.

My husband (beneficiary) and I (petitioner) arrived about an hour early. The security officers and receptionist who checked us in were friendly. They directed us to the waiting area, where we waited until about 12:15 for the officer to take us back into the office for the interview. The officer then took our passports and state IDs to verify our identities. We took the oath and began answering questions:

Questions for me (petitioner):
What is your husband's name?
When is your husband's birthday?
Have you met your husband's family?
What is his mother's name?
What was the purpose of your first trip to Morocco? In what year/month did the first visit take place?
(When shown a photo of us with his family): Who are the people in this photo?

Questions for him (beneficiary):
When is your wife's birthday?
Are you working now? Where?
Was your last entry to the USA on the K1 visa? (He had used AP so the answer was no, we then provided the officer with updated I94)
What was the purpose of the last trip you took (where you used AP)?
(When shown 2 photos of us with my family): Who are the people in this photo?
Various questions asked directly from the I-485

Questions for both:
When did the relationship go from just friends to seriously dating?
How did the subject of marriage come up? Was there a proposal? When?
Do you have any documentation of your life together in the US? (We provided him with photos, joint bank and credit card statements, joint tax return, health insurance)

At the end of the interview, he gave us an overview of the green card approval process and reminded us that it would be a conditional green card that would need to be renewed in 2 years. Finally he stated that he had enough documentation in order to make a decision, and that we should be hearing something within the next 2 weeks (he didn't specifically say that we were approved or denied). About 2 hours later, I got a text informing me that the green card was in production.
