Review Topic: K1 Visa

I'm writing this on the behalf of my fiance since he doesn't have an account on here.

He got there about an hour early he saw a man first who took his passport didn't take his passport photos just scanned them and handed all four back to him, took his finger prints, took the affidavit of support, birth certificates, police certificates, asked if he had made any travel plans (I think to kinda trick him) gave him his chest X-ray back, and told him to sit down. Not even five minutes later he was called to another window where the lady asked if either of us had been married before asked to see both divorce papers took his finger prints again asked about a wedding date and joked about Georgia heat in August looked at her screen and said "everything seems to be in order we’re going to go ahead and approve the visa put his passport and other documents in a pink plastic wallet and said that’s it, congratulations you should have your passport within 3-5 days". They’re all friendly and it’s easy to navigate.

I have waited until we got word of his passport and visa to write this to kinda help others in the future. I am notating that his interview was the 12th of June. CEAC changed to "administrative processing" 13th of June. It changed to "issued" on the 18th of June and he finally got a notification about it being enroute on the 20th of June. He says he expects it either the 25th or 26th but I have high hopes of it being here by Friday (the 22nd) *fingers crossed so tight*. We have not booked any flights just in case something is wrong with his passport or the envelope they have sent him. I'd hate him to be out of hundreds of dollars.

***Side note on the embassy. There was another girl applying for her K1 at the time of her interview. She forgot her DS-160 and had no clue what it was. We assume her fiance did everything for her. Instead of turning her away they told her they would give her four hours to get that printed and come back. So I think that says loads about how easy going this embassy is. My only complaint is they haven't been very quick to send the visa/passport back but that's just me being impatient.***

Check my timelines for dates and feel free to message me with questions. I don't mind helping others for others have helped me loads along the way of this very frustrating and stressful journey.
