I was extremely lucky that I was given an interview appointment after they had a cancellation. When in contact with the embassy regarding my appointment I asked them to please put me on a cancelation list, the following Monday morning I got a call to say they had a cancellation for the next day and I took it.
The interview was very quick and relaxed. I was in and out of there in around 30/40 mins. The questions were all very conversational, I was quite nervous going in but everyone there made me feel very at ease. All of my answers were honest and never questioned further, he just responded with simple nods and okay. I was told I was approved there and then!!
Some questions I was asked (that I can remember)
• Explain how you met and the progression of your relationship.
• Why did I choose to move to the U.S. and not him choosing to move to Ireland?
• Do we have any wedding plans?
• What is my work and what work will I plan to do over there?
• What do my parents think of me moving over to the U.S. to be with him?
