So today, just under 11 months after my wife sent my petition to USCIS I had my interview at Nine Elms. As instructed I arrived half an hour prior to my 10:30 appointment, checked in with the lady outside security and was told that once I had cleared security I should ignore the line of people and go straight to the desk. Once at the desk I had loads of stickers stuck to my appointment letter and was directed to the first floor and told to turn left through the main area and follow the signs to windows 20-21. On arrival there were 3 people waiting, so I took a seat.

After about 5 minutes I was called to the window, I was asked if I had had my medical, asked if I had ever held a US visa or green card, and then I handed over my passport, photographs, my original birth certificate, original marriage certificate, decree absolute, military discharge certificate and police certificate, I was fingerprinted and then told to take a seat again.

About 10 minutes laterI was called to another window, I had my fingerprints taken again, took the oath and then was asked again if I had attended my medical, and was asked if I had ever been in trouble with the police or immigration, I was then asked the following questions:

How did you meet your wife?
When did you first meet in person?
Does she live in the US?
Where does she live?
Do you intend living with her when you get over there?

She then said once we receive your medical results, your visa will be issued and you should receive your passport back within 1 -2 days of it being issued.

I think I was on the train longer than I was in the consulate.
