Review Topic: K1 Visa

Hi all:

We both got there to the embassy at 7:25am. There where bunch of people waiting in line to get in. I would highly suggest not to bring any cellphone or recording device to the interview. Lucky for us, we had rented a AirBnb nearby so we could walk there. Me, the petiotner, had to show my USC passport and my fiance had to show here DS-160 printout and passport at the gate. We brought all the evidence we gathered after the NOA-1 and financial stuff. (I-134 only needed). They didnt want no employment letter, W-2, paystubs, or Bank letter. We handed them over anyways with the whole documents we had. The lady at the first window didn't even look at them and told us, we didn't need them. We then sat down and waited for our interview. A fellow Vjer K1 was there also having their interview. Another single person was being interview for a CR-1 visa. he had literally a bible of photos and paperwork. We all got approved. When it was our turn, we had heard the questions asked to other couples and the CR-1 spouse.

1) Where did you meet your fiance?
2) Where did you see your fiance for the first time
3) What do you guys have in common?
4) What do you guys like to do together?
5) What do you know about the town and state you are going to?
6) Have you read the IMBRA pamphlet

Mostly common questions that real couples can answer easily. The whole interview took less than 7 minutes total with CO and it was in English. My Fiance had to swear an oath and give her fingerprints before all this happened.

I think it made a huge difference that I (the petitioner) was there for my fiance, IMO. I answered just 2 of the questions to not get too involved in her interview. The CO didn't seem to mind it either. It all went so quickly and she made few comments about our paperwork and did take a look through the evidence. She mentioned something about the trips we had taken and my families pictures. I guess she was just checking and verifying that was not some Photoshop or else. Altogether it was an easy and fast experience. At the end the CO said we where approved. Hope this is a good review on what to expect and good luck to ya'll.
