So my appointment was at 10:30 in the new London Nine elms Embassy. I travelled from Vauxhall tube station and it was around a 5-10 minute walk from the tube station along the riverside. I was super early so I nipped to Waitrose and grabbed a coffee etc and had a look around the outside of the building and the lovely waterfall features etc. I then proceeded to the south entrance where there is a little tent area saying "Visa Services". this was at 950am. A nice lady said "Let him in as it cold and he's only 10 minutes early lol". So I went thru security pretty quick indeed. No liquids etc. I then went to another Q-line system where the lady checked my Ds-160 and signed me in on her system . She then told me to wait inside as its cold again so off I went to another little area. Another Lady then took my passport and Ds-160 and gave me a sticker on my forms with a number, she informed me to go up to the next level in the elevator and turn left and left again. I did as she instructed and waited around 10 minutes for my number to be called. A nice gentleman took my birth certificate , employment letter, 1040 2016 tax return, the Support form of income etc. We had a general chit chat while he copied everything even tho I had all the copies he said they will do it. He also only asked for one USA size passport photo which he scanned and kept. We had a little more chat and he said "Knightsbridge havnt sent over the medical reports yet", he said its Becoming more and more of an issue lately and they have discussed with them to change the criteria to allow at least 10 days before your interview or something. Anyway he told me to take a seat and wait for my number again. This time it was more of a 30-35 minute wait. It was funny to hear other people doing the same thing or arguing why they were deported etc and actually time went ok. Data service is a but of a no go so I just turned off my cell phone and sat there. Then my number was called and the nice gentleman asked me to hold up my right hand and say im telling the truth etc. He then asked me about previous marriages and our time in Japan and if I can speak any Japanese and we tried together and laughed. He asked about how we met and where he works and why he's moved from Orlando to LA etc and he was nice and happy. He said "ok thats all fine, you're approved but you're medical isn't here, so he gave me a slip saying that my medical isn't here yet etc but not to worry " It didn't ask for anymore documents or proof or nothing. I had over prepared for the interview thinking it would be like an XFACTOR audition and it was just basically like a bank, with a glass screen and you stand there and chat. He said go call knightsbridge and ask them later when you're out the building, so I did. Knightsbridge had some questions to ask me with the DR but she said "ill sign your forms off today and post it later today or tomorrow morning" she said she was happy with everything and nothing should be a problem now etc. And the overall embassy experience was pretty nice. You just gotta relax and not be so scared and obviously they know you are nervous and I think if you truly are in love and have nothing to hide then they will see that. So yeah the embassy part was great. The worst part of the whole London experience was the MEDICAL. That part is so intense for no reason lol.
