The interview was very easy; the only frustrating part was that my wife had to wait almost 4 hours to be interviewed, which lasted about 10 minutes.
She entered the embassy at 6:30am for 7:30 am interview. While waiting outside in line, they were checking for Interview letter, DS-260 confirmation page and pictures. After completing security check and entering embassy, she was asked to wait in line to obtain a token number. After receiving token number, she was asked to wait for her number to be called. After about an half hour wait, her token number was called where an Indian woman arranged documents. Below is the list of documents asked:
- Interview letter
- DS-260 confirmation page
- Pictures
- Original and copy of her Birth Certificate
- Original and copy of our marriage Certificate
- PCC
After documents were arranged, she was asked to wait again. After waiting for another 30-40 minutes, she was called at the counter where they collected her passport, gave women’s right and violence pamphlet and asked below questions:
- Is this your first marriage?
- Is this your husband’s first marriage?
- Do you have any children?
- What was your mother’s surname before her marriage?
- What do you do for living?
- Asked for her cell phone number.
After above questions, she waited for almost two and half-hours for her interview. The interview lasted about 10 minutes. At the Window she was greeted by a White male and a female translator (she was taking her interview in Gujarati) with good morning and was asked to take an Oath to support US laws. This was followed by 4 questions below:
- When was the last time you meet your husband?
- What did you do when you were together?
- What does your husband do for living?
- What is his title at the job?
Than the CO informed her that Congratulations, your VISA has been Approved and informed to pay immigration fee before traveling to USA.
