We had our AOS interview August 1, 2007 in the Seattle office. We arrived about half an hour early, and because they were quite busy, waited an extra forty minutes past our scheduled interview time.

The interviewer was nice, but very serious and businesslike. She started off with swearing us both in, and ran through a lot of the yes/no questions from the forms. She then asked how we had met, and took some notes. Probably less that ten minutes of questions, also asking about where we lived etc.

Then she looked through our documents we had brought to show proof of relationship, glancing at a stack of pictures (she enjoyed but didn't seem too important,) copies of mail received either addressed to both of us or just to my wife (seemed important,) dental insurance covering my wife (was important,) and although my wife hadn't been added to my work insurance (too expensive!) noting she was eligible appeared to be important to the interviewer, copy of joint bank account and bank mail addressed to both of us (important,) and finally showing that my wife was a primary beneficiary of my life insurance seemed to finalize the documentation in the eyes of the interviewer.

After that the interviewer took my wife's I-94 and told us that she would not need it, the background checks were complete, and we would have the green card very shortly!

As we all put away our documents we talked a little, and the interviewer told us she thought we seemed very well organized and had a great understanding of the process! Thanks VJ!!! All in all we were done in under 20 minutes and left to go have a celebratory dinner at our favorite restaurant Bahama Breeze!
