My wife had her interview May 8th. I was unable to be with her at the interview. So I will try to give a helpful review of what she told me.
First thing I will recommend is book a room at a hotel close to embassy. My wife lives in manila, but we still thought it was best if she could be closer to the embassy for her 6 am appointment. I book a room for her at manila bay hotel right across from the embassy.
My wife told me she went to the embassy at 4 am. I do not know if a person needs to arrive that early or not but my wife told me the lines was starting to form. I ask her if the process was confusing. She told me it was but their was helpful people there that will direct a person to the right spot. I think my wife told me there are like 5 steps involve. I am not sure what all the steps involve.
As far as the interview. My wife told me she was interview first by a very nice Filipina lady in tagalog. One of the question the lady ask my wife was if my wife had a prior marriage. My wife did not know what she met and the lady smile and explain the question more.
After the Filipina lady was done. My wife was interview by an American guy. She say the guy was nice but it was hard for her to understand him as he use a lot of slang words, but he only ask her 3 questions. My wife also told me that some of the American officer spoke tagalog as she heard them speak it but the officer interviewing her did not. My wife told me there was silent for a while so she ask the American officer if he was finish and he told her they was reviewing her documents.
The Embassy did ask for all the civil documents for my wife, They did not ask to see the tax info I sent her. In the interview letter it state the nvc send the tax info to the embassy, so maybe the embassy already had it. However I will still recommend a person take a copy of the AOS packet with them to the interview. They also only wanted to see pictures that my wife bought to her interview. They did not ask to see any of our face book or text mgs chat
In conclusion it seems overall my wife had a fairly simple easy interview. She was finish at 9:30 am. After chatting with my wife and reading other review. It seem if the person has all of their documents and is well prepare. The interview should be a very simple smooth process. If a person does not have all their documents or can not answer simple questions right away most likely the interview will take a lot longer and be a lot harder
Good luck to anyone that has interview soon. I hope this review help a little
