Everything was smooth. The normal questions. The only issue was getting the luggage after the interview. Because immigration process took an hour and a half, the luggage was removed from the carousel before my fiance was able to get there. The airline (interjet) does not keep employees staffed at a counter all day like other major airlines. They only have staff just prior to one of their flights departing. So we had to wait 3 hours before someone could get the luggage.

We waited in the "Visitors" line for about an hour. Several international flights had arrived at the same time. I was with two USC family members and they were allowed to wait in the same line as me, so we wouldn't be separated. I gave my packet to the CBP officer and he was annoyed it was completely destroyed. My packet arrived so damaged due to the bulk (I'm pretty sure there was 10lbs of evidence in there). It was a very thin manila envelope that just withstand the sheer weight of my file. The officer asked if I opened it, I said no it arrived that way and I didn't even take it out of the DHL bag. I opened the DHL bag and slid my passport out and didn't touch the rest. The passport had a loose sheet of paper that explained how to pay the immigrant fee. The CBP officer had me go to the second screening room since my packet was damaged. There I waited for about five minutes. The second officer asked if I opened the packet, I said no and explained how I only slid the passport out and didn't touch the rest. The officer asked if I was traveling with anyone, I said yes, then she asked who, I answered who I was with. She asked where I was coming from and where I was going. And that was It! She stamped my passport and handed me a sheet of paper explaining when I'd get my green card. I was then able to meet up with my traveling companions. After waiting in line for an hour, the process with the CBP officers took a whole 5-10min. They were neither rude nor polite, just taking their job seriously. Practically no hassle at all, just nerves that the packet was damaged.

Everything went smoothly up until our encounter with border patrol at the Bush International Airport. I waited for my fiancé for about 30 minutes before he came back from processing accompanied by an officer. They told us we were missing a document, and our packet was incomplete. However, it was a form that should have been given to us by the embassy. After frantically searching through every single piece of paper, the officer told us they would have to detain my fiancé for 3-4 hours while they did more "paperwork." At exactly three hours, they released him. Turns out all our paperwork was in the system, and they allowed him entry into the country. My fiancé said they resolved the issue within 10 minutes and he sat in a room by himself for the rest of the time just waiting. They refused to speak Spanish with him, but spoke other languages with other people who were waiting. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that he's here now, but we feel that we were not treated well, especially when nothing was lacking on our part.

This is a very big airport, so please have that in mind for you not to lose your connections. Other than that I had a nice experience in Houston. The CBP was huge and full of people but the line I was was redirected to be attended faster. I went to a booth were a mexican officer was, so I could speak Spanish for a little while, he saw my K-1 package and asked another officer to escort me to a small secondary inspection room, in there I sat for almost 3 minutes and an officer called me to a counter, he then asked me when the marriage will be, how much money I had at the moment and when I met my fiancée; just those 3 questions, he then stamped my passport and let me go. No harrasment or disrespect whatsoever, everything for me was great that day. A piece of advise to everyone, if you're immigrating, in your carry on have every single document you think might be relevant, even if the officers just look the really necessary ones you'll have everything at hand just in case they need to see them or something like that.

Topic: Port of Entry Review

Finally I am in Houston.
My port of entry was IAH, everything was great except for the officer at POE she was rude. She asked me in not a nice way when I would get marry I said: within 90 days and she replied in a bad mood: I did not ask you that, it's my job, so you have no idea when you are going to get marry... Immediately I replied: as soon as the licence to get marry is issued we will get marry, our plane is by the end of this month.
Please be always specific.
