Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

It was easier than we expected. Our appointment was at 8 which is when they start working appropriately. When we arrived at the gate there was a big crowd containing both immigrant and non-immigrant visa applicants. They were asking people to go through security by time brackets. I had a tote bag to put all of the documents that we brought and even though there isn't anything more than documentation they didn't let me bring the bag in. The only things that they allow are documents, a wallet, and keys. Rest should stay out. after admission, there is only one way to go. After you got in the line there are a couple of staff to check your appointment, put a tracking sticker on your passport and forward you to the correct booth. even though there are many booths available there was only one booth working for immigrant visas. before the interview, your number is called for a different booth to check your documentation. They didn't ask anything (we were over-prepared). they took my passport, a biometric picture, military service status paper, and pictures I brought as relationship proof. They asked me if would english be okay for my interview and I said yes. After a little bit of waiting the only officer for immigrant visas called my name with a heavy accent (Thank god I am used to hearing different mispronunciations of my name). He administered me to take an oath and threw a couple of names like my wife's mom and dad. Then he gave the pictures and flier about my rights in the US as an immigrant spouse (that is the part that indicates they're convinced about your case and the rest will be a formality) He asked how we met and gave him a quick timeline and after that, his immediate response was congratulations your visa approved. everything took maybe 90ish minutes. all of the stress and anxiety didn't worth it. It was such a pleasant experience.
