Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

well my morning got off to a bad start, first i forgot to print the NVC receipt to show that i had already paid. and i started freaking out about that, since i didn't have time to print it, my interview was 8:30 am. then i got on the wrong bus,
and ended up in downtown kingston, then it begun to rain, my hair and all was
soaked(talk about bad luck lol)got to the embassy at 7:30am gave the phone to
the guys across the street to keep. then went through security, my husband was told that he had to wait in the court yard.one thing i can tell you, when going
to the embassy make sure that you are well fed before,lol..hungry and thirst almost kill me.lol..at one point i thought i was going to pass out. because they
do not call the numbers evenly, so i was there for 6hrs before i got through.
there were 3windows being used 7,8,9 the woman at window 7 a white female with
short hair was handing out blue slips left, right and center she even denied
a couple, they were a white female in her early 40's and a black male in his late 30's looking. she grilled them both for about 45mins then finally told them
that their story didn't add up and that she was sending back their petition. she
advised them that they could contest it. by this time myself and any one sitting close by started to say we didn't want to get her. and low and behold we got her the lady that was sitting next to me went up first, she got blue slipped. when it was my turn to go up mark you by this time i almost didn't care anymore, i was so hungry and thirsty,on top of the fact that i was sick with the flu, my head was throbbing, my body aches and my poor lil 4yr old was miserable, and started sleeping. so all i wanted to do was get out! anyway my number called i went up, swore in and the questions begins.

Interview 11/2/2010. My honey reported no real concerns with the interview. It just took a long time. The CO took all of his evidence and documents. He received a blue sheet interview because he still has to complete his medical examination.

Sorry we took so long guys to make and update and tell you how our interview/day went...HERE GOES>>> Our trip to Kingston on November 8 was harder than the interview, head out a lil b4 6:AM on our way up my friend hit a pothole in the road, blowing out both tiers on the right side, good thing thx to God he can drive else it would be worst, now we only have one spear so we r stuck, funny the same pothole we hit their comes a guy 10 mins after hitting it and chopping his 2 right tiers too...OMG. now am worried am gonna be late, no tier shop open that early, well we put the spear on and rim it to the gas station, reach their they don't sell tiers...WTH...finally we convince a taxi drive to sell us his spear thx 2 God, lol...we get moving just as we about to hit the highway, the holder for the spear under the car fly...I was so mad, stop again. fix that running late take the Boulevard, traffic like hell, now we r late but the drama aint over their comes a dummy running into the back of our car. AAAAAHHHH WTH, i was saying why me, why me this morning???? But my beautiful Fiancée kiss me on the cheeks an say " ITS GONNA BE OK BABY" Settle, luckily the damage wasn't 2 bad to the car, I finally make it their after 9:AM, explain to the Ladies @ the front they went over my papers and let us in, my Fiancée was allow to enter but she has to sit in the courtyard not in the interview room unless the CO ask for her to enter , we were happy she could come inside.
Now the wait begins it was long but i was more nervous than worried about the wait, but it went well, my number was called hand in all my docs, then comes my interview the CO was stern, yet professional with what he ask, funny I never felt intimidate after the first question I just relax...
1.If its a coincident that after I was denied 2 times my Fiancée file for me? I explain to him.
2.When i leave the U.S.A?
3.How long was I @ one of my previous jobs in the U.S.A?
4.Since I've been to JA how many time I see my Fiancée?
5.Then he say, if you had gotten ur previous visa don't you think you Fiancée would take a bit more time to know you?
6.Ask how we met?
Next thing I hear can I have your passport, funny he had it in his hand, I smile an say Sir you have it in you hand, thats the first time he smile..lol, the he says ur approve give me the pink ticket an say go to DHL, say thank you to the CO,enjoy the rest of your Sir, he says thx, you too...I must say I give the Embassy staff 5 out of 5, especially Kevin, that guys just keep us smiling yet professional about what he does. My advise be prepare, be honest, funny I had all this evidence but wasn't ask for it...
THANKS TO ALL YOU GUYS & VJ, WE COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT ALL OF YOU, NOW I'M WAITING ON MY PASSPORT FROM DHL.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Our appointment was at 8:00am on November 1, 2010. He stayed overnight in Kingston at the Spanish Court Hotel, which was a maximum of 15 minutes (in rush hour traffic) from the embassy. My husband arrived at the embassy about 10 minutes before 8am. He went over to the ladies behind the railing in front of the embassy, who took his 2 passport size photos, passport, and appointment letter. They then returned his passport with the photos in them. Next up was security check - removal of shoes, belt, etc. to pass through metal detector. Then he went inside and obtained a number at the first desk and a yellow paper to write his passport number on. He was then told to wait over to the right side for his number to be called. After about 45 minutes of waiting, he found a seat. About a quarter 'til 10am his number was called. He approached the window and provided his passport, 2 passport size photos, and medical. The lady asked a couple questions like if he had ever traveled to the U.S. before, and a number in JA where he could be reached. Then he was sent to a desk to pay the additional $4 US visa fee (due to the rate increase). He returned the receipt to the lady at the window, where she took his fingerprints, and returned his passport and told him to listen for his number to be called again. The numbers were not being called in order, and he got through ahead of many people who were there before him. After about 15 minutes later (Around 10:10am) his number showed up again for the interview.

He handed the IO his passport. The IO asked him to place his middle finger on a scanner. The IO didn't look at him much. He mainly asked questions and typed on the computer. He asked my husband if he had ever traveled to the US and if he had any family there. My husband told him he had been to the US multiple times and only his wife was there. He saw my husbands previous C1 visa for transit to Australia and asked some questions. Then he looked at his other visas to visit various countries and asked what his purpose was in visiting each destination. He had already started canceling my husbands B1/B2 visitors visa and C1 transit visa. It seemed like the IO had already looked through our paper work and made a decision before my husband even approached the window. He asked the following questions about our relationship:

How do we communicate with each other? My husband answered international calls, skype, and visiting each other. He told the IO he had itineraries for all our trips and call records. The IO said he already had that documentation from NVC.

He asked how many people were at our wedding?

Then he asked my husband what other documents did he say he had brought with him. My husband gave him some pictures to look at. He flicked through and looked at a couple.

He gave my husband a little pink slip with a number and said you are good. He told him to take it to the DHL window. My husband asked him if that was it. He said yes and continued to type on the computer. My husband stood in the line and paid the DHL fee and was out of the embassy by 11:00am Since he couldn't take his cell phone with him, he bought a call from one of the guys outside for $100 JA to tell me he was approved.

He called the on-time taxi to come back to the hotel and that was that! They told everyone at the embassy to not make any plans for two weeks, until they got a visa and passport back in their hands, because you never know what could happen. He received it today, November 5th!

My husband said his interview for his visitors visa B1/B2 had more questions than this one. He also said most people he saw got blue slips. I think as long as you come prepared for the unexpected, you will be OK.

We are all smiles!
