On July 18, 2011 my husband and I arrived at the embassy at 6:30am for our 7am interview. We were about the 6th person in line. At about 7am they let us in
the first doors. The first gentlemen we encountered asked for all the evience we had, but only took our phone records,he gave us a number and told us to go to the right. We were the fourth persons to be called. The consulate officer ask for picture I only had our wedding album, it was too big to be put thru the glass so I held it up and turned the pages for her. these are the questions asked.
Who is that gentleman in the picture?
my father.
Who else from your family attendedthe wedding?
my mother,sisters,nephew, cousin, uncles.
Who took the pictures was it professional?
no a friend who takes pictures at our local church.
O who is that doing your make up?
a girl from a local spa in our district I can't even remember her name.
o you had bridesmaides, how many people attended your wedding?
about 100.
Why don't you have a detailed phone bill?
because I just call by husband to tell him to call me I use phone cards and he uses digecell pay as you go.
They asked my husband have you ever been arrested? no. Have you ever traveled to the US? no. ok visa approved
Iam upset because the only thing they asked to see was pictures and its the same pictures my husband brought and showed them on the 21st of june but he was denied. But no man can stop Gods plan and its Gods will for me and my husband to be together just waiting one the visa they say one week.

WELL HERE GOES, MY APPOINTMENT WAS AT 9:30AM. I GOT THERE ON TIME. WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES IN THE LINE BEFORE WE WERE NEXT, THE LADIES OUTSIDE TOOK OUR FORMS DS156,2 COPIES: DS157,2 COPIES AND DS156K, 2COPIES, OUR PASSPORT PICS AND PAYMENT RECEIPT THEN WE WENT THRU SECURITY AND WAS SHOWN A DOOR TO FO THROUGH. BECAUSE I HAD MY BABY THEY CALLED ME TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE AND GAVE ME MY NUMBER AND A YELLOW SLIP OF PAPER AND TELL ME TO GO TO THE RIGHT, ONCE WE GOT INSIDE WE WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES BEFORE OUR NUMBER WAS CALLED, SO WE WENT UP TO THE WINDOW WHERE THERE WAS A JAMAICAN LADY WITH A STINKING ATTITUDE ASKING THAT I SIGN THE DS156 FORMS FOR MYSELF AND MY SONS AND PUT EVERYBODY'S PAPERS IN THEIR OWN PASSPORTS. SO I PUT THE FORMS AND PICS IN THE PASSPORTS AND THEN SHE ASKED FOR THE POLICE REPORT. I ASKED IF I SHOULD PUT THE NON IMPEDIMENT AND OTHER STUFF AND SHE ANGRILY SAID I SAID EVERYTHING SO I JUST STARTED PUSHING EVERYTHING UNDER THE WINDOW. POLICE RECORDS,DIVORCE DECREE, I134, TAX RETURNS MY FIANCE BANK STATEMENTS BIRTH CERTS EVERYTHING, SHE TOOK MINE FIRST AND CAREFULLY DID EACH ONE AT A TIME THEN SHE TOOK OUR FINGERPRINTS THEN ASK US TO GO SIT DOWN. WE WAITED ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE OUR NUMBER WAS CALLED AGAIN AND WE WENT TO WINDOW NUMBER 8 WHERE THERE WAS A YOUNG WHITE AMERICAN MALE. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO THE US? I SAID NO. THEN HE ASKED IF THE BABY HAD A US PASSPORT, I TOLD HIM YES, HE ASKED FOR MY DAUGHTER'S BIRTH CERT AND I GAVE IT TO HIM. HE THEN ASK ME AND MY SONS TO SIGN SOMETHING THEN MADE LIFT OUR RIGHT HANDS AND SWEAR TO TELL THE TRUTH. THEN HE ASK MY SONS TO HAVE A SEAT. THEN THE QUESTIONS WERE: HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN YOUR FIANCE? HOW DID YOU MEET? HAVE YOU TWO EVER LIVED TOGETHER? FOR HOW LONG? WAS YOUR HUSBAND PREVIOUSLY MARRIED? I CORRECTED HIM AND SAID MY FIANCE? HE SAID, OH YES YOUR FIANCE (LOOK OUT FOR THESE LITTLE SLIPS, THEY THINK THEY R SMART)WHEN WAS THE DIVORCE FINALIZE? BUT YOU TWO HAVE BEEN TOGETHER BEFORE? HOW WAS THAT WHEN HE WAS STILL MARRIED?( THEY SEPERATED FROM 2007)WHERE DOES HE WORK? WHAT DOES HE DO? HAVE YOU OR ANY OF YOUR SONS EVER BEEN ARRESTED BY THE POLICE? HAVE YOU OR ANY OF YOUR SONS EVER LIVED IN ANOTHER COUNTRY? THEN HE SAID OK MISS, YOU CAN GO TO WINDOW 26 AND ARRANGE WITH DHL TO DELIVER YOUR VISAS. I WAS OU OF THERE IN LESS THAN 2 HOURS. NB. THEY COULD NOT FIND ONE OF MY SON MEDICAL, SO HE NOTIFY ME THEY WONT BE ABLE TO PRINT THE VISAS UNTIL THEY SEE HIS MEDCAL REPORT AND IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM THEY WOULD CALL ME. THANKS BE TO GOD THEY FOUND IT AND EVERYTHING WAS OK.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My sweetie says he got there at at about 7:30/8am for his 9:30 interview. When he got there there was a guy from the Embassy that took his forms and organized them properly and stapled two of his pictures and the visa voucher to the DS 156. Then he went through security similar to airport security. Next he got his number and handed over his appointment letter to a worker. Then he was told to sit and wait in the immigrant visa section.

He was called to a window by a Jamaicain lady that checked off that he had all his documents and he also did his biometric finger prints. Then he sat and waitied for his number to be called for his interview. The wait was about an hour. It was packed in the waiting area, had to wait for others to get up for their interview to find a seat.

Finally called for his interview and first he had to complete Part 2 of the DS-230. Then he was sword in and asked the following questions:

How long have I known my fiancee?
Where did we meet?
How did we meet?
Where does she stay when she comes to Jamaica?
What kind of work does she do?
How old is she?
Has he ever lived anywhere else outside of JA?
Where does he work?
Do either of you have children?
Have you ever been to the US?

After the questioning, the officer asked for his passport and gave him a grey ticket to go to the DHL counter to make arrangements. APPROVED! He went to the counter and paid his money and should receive his visa in the next two weeks.

He says his interviewer was very patient with him when he missed a yes/no question on the DS-230, Part 2. We had a photo album and much more evidence to accompany the evidence with the petition. They looked at the post petition evidence and the all the required forms in the Packet 4 along with srutiny on the Affidavit of Support. They did not look at the photo album. Our reccomendation is to just be over prepared and organized so there is no question about your love.

Above all keep God First!

This review is as per my soon to be husband

His appointment was scheduled for July 1 @ 9am he arrived at the embassy at 7:45am. He paid a gentleman to hold his phone ($300J). The CO reviewed his forms and instructed him to join the line. They only asked for 4 pictures and the lady began to fuss because I typed SO details on the back of the picture -- he told me that "til now I didn't ask her".

After moving through various lines he was called by the interviewer, the CO was an American woman, possibly bi-racial (coolie as my SO mentioned). She reviewed our paper work, began typing and asked the following:

How did you and your fiance meet?

She type more details in and said you are approved! She only asked ONE question! She explained the process of paying DHL, the projected time frame and extended her congraduations.

SO paid DHL and was sent on his merry way -- he called me as soon as he got his phone back at 1:42pm EST (12:42pm in JA)

Some tid bits:
-- two people were not approved due to not having enough financial information/proof. In our case the CO didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t even look at our pictures.

-- Arriving too early creates a greater level of stress (as per SO)

-- SO found that the checklist in packet 4 was extremely helpful the night before...double check that you have everything.

-- I organized the forms according to how they would take them (access to embassy folder- interview letter, specific forms), financial documentation with form, proof of relationship....in short there were four folders.

Future hubby gave the interview experience a 5...let's see if the visa arrives with the 2 week time frame
